Athletic competition is a dynamic process accompanied by a variety of emotional changes. We often see the athletes fail the competition, which has a great relationship with the emotional state, especially the negative emotional state. In addition, movement speed occupies a very important position in the field of athletic competition.Because the effective control of movement speed is the key to win the competition in many athletic projects. Therefore,to explore the impact of negative emotions on the speed of movement will help guide athletes to control the speed of movement effectively, and then achieve the final victory of the competition.Experiment 1 :A preliminary study of the behavioral characteristics of negative emotions on movement speed.Asked the subjects to watch the emotional pictures which are presented in the pseudo-random way, then completed six action tasks quickly, the action time was recorded at the same time. The results showed that the main effect of emotion was not significant(p = 0.087),and the main effect of movement order was significant(p = 0.014).The interaction between the two factors was not significant(p = 0.271).Experiment 2 :focuses on the behavioral characteristics and EEG characteristics of negative emotions on movement speed.Asked the subjects to watch the entire group of emotional pictures and then complete the six action tasks quickly, the action time and EEG data were recorded at the same time. The emotional picture were divided into three period: early, middle and late, and the behavior and EEG data of three periods were analyzed statistically. The results of the behavioral data are as follows:(1)early period :The main effect of emotion is not significant(P = 0.103).The main effect of movement order was significant(p = 0.001),and the interaction between the two factors was not significant(p = 0.963).(2)middle period :the main effect of emotion is not significant(P = 0.146),the main effect of movement order was significant(p = 0.039),and the interaction between the two factors was not significant(p = 0.469).(3)late period :the main effect of emotion is significant(P = 0.042).The effect of negative emotion condition was significantly slower than that of neutral condition. The main effect of movement order was significant(p = 0.002)The two factors The interaction was not significant(p = 0.643).The results of the late EEG data are as follows:(1)N1 amplitude: the main effect of emotion was not significant(P = 0.350);The main effect of movement order was significant(P = 0.043),the sixth action induced greater N1 amplitude; The interaction between the two factors was not significant(P = 0.324).(2)N170 amplitude:the main effect of emotion was significant(P = 0.31).The main effect of movement order was not significant(P =0.249).the interaction between the two factors was not significant(P = 0.187)Conclusion:(1)Intense negative emotion has a significant disturbance effect on the speed of movement which may be due to the fact that negative emotional processing takes up more cognitive resources(2)The more attention concentrated to the movement task, the faster the movement speed is.
