As economic globalization accelerates,Chinese government encourages more and more Chinese enterprises to "go global",seeking foreign cooperation. In this process, the financial statement shoulders the responsibilities of disclosing the companies' economic activities, performance and strengths.Good translation of the financial statement becomes particularly important. At present, studies on the translation of financial statement mainly focus on the E-C translation and vocabulary translation. This report is based on a C-E translation task of an audit report. The audit report consists of two parts, the audit opinion and financial statement. The original is a part of notes to financial statement.Notes to financial statement are main components of the financial statement. This report studies the guiding role of Nida's functional equivalence theory in the translation of financial statement. This report is divided into four parts:Chapter One gives an introduction to the translation task and financial statement;Chapter Two describes the translation process, including pre-translation preparation, difficulties encountered during the translation process and the post-translation feedback;Chapter Three firstly introduces functional equivalence theory and translation principles used in the translation process;and then, through case analysis, demonstrates the principles and methods applied in translation;the last part makes a conclusion. The research methods include exemplification and theoretical explanation. It is hoped that this report could give some insights for those who are engaged in the translation of the financial statement.
