The topic of our thesis is a comprehensive analysis of double "le" in standard Chinese language.Based on the previous research,with a more detailed observation upon the language facts,this thesis thoroughly and deeply makes the analysis of double "le" from the perspective of functional grammar.The thesis contains of 6 parts:The first part introduces the objects and significance of this research,the related theories and the corpus origin.The second part is devoted to the research of double "le" so far,including the grammatical meanings of "le",as well as the description and explanation of double"le".Some researchers describe double "le" by analyzing the verb and the object,but there’s no comprehensive research done on the study of double "le".Also there’s no unified explanation of double "le".Some scholars believe that the grammatical meaning of double "le" comes from the verb,while others think that it’s the meaning of "le" that decides the grammatical meaning of double "le".The third part is the analysis of syntax,first,we describe the inner structure of double "le",divide the verb in double "le" into 4 different types and analyze its influence on semantics;also,divides the object in double "le" into 2 different types and analysis the forms and meanings.Then describe the interaction between double"le" and the other parts of the sentence,including tense,adverbs and modality.The fourth part is mainly about the analysis of semantics;first we summarize the meaning of "le",and then analyze the meaning of double "le".The fifth part is the analysis of pragmatic,this part explores the implication,mood of double "le"The sixth part is the conclusion,summarizes the main views of this paper and the result of the research.
