| With the rapid development of computer technology, the concept of education continued to update,the traditional teaching mode constantly to reform, which make multimedia assisted English teaching to be one of the most important language teaching models at present. In2007, the ministry of education in China issued<<College English Curriculum Requirements>>. The old teaching mode should be improved, teachers should not be treated as the dominant people who controls the class beginning and end.Bring multimedia in English classroom teaching, giving full play to the advantages of computer technology, start using multimedia assisted English teaching mode.So, the promotion of multimedia technology in higher vocational English teaching activities will be one of the main development direction of higher vocational English teaching in the future. The application of multimedia assisted English teaching in higher vocational colleges increasingly widespread, highlighting the important position of multimedia assisted English teaching in the field of education. As a higher vocational college English teacher, learning the multimedia technology is imperative.Exploring its advantages fully,and skillfully using in teaching practice plays a positive role in improving the quality of English teaching, deepening the reform of college English teaching.During the survey, found that the research of multimedia assisted English teaching mostly for undergraduate class university,primary and secondary schools, less research in higher vocational colleges.This article is mainly to make a research on the application of Multimedia Assisted English Teaching in Xian Yang vocational technical college. The aim of this investigation is to find out the status quo in the application of MAET there and the potential problems in the application of MAET, then analyzes their causes, mainly contains: students are reluctant to learn by themselves and they nearly use multimedia in English learning; English teachers are lack of theory on information technology and their unstable abilities in computerapplication;teaching method and teaching mode in class can not get on the times; the leaders have limited thoughts about multimedia assisted English teaching and also there are lack of teaching sources and construction. Then analysis factors of these problems and pick out some suggest about how to carry on multimedia assisted English teaching in Xian yang vocational technical college.According to the analysis of this questionnaires, and constantly improving multimedia assisted English teaching in Xian yang vocational technical college, this paper presents some suggestions as follows: Strengthen learning activeness of students,lift their abilities in multimedia application, adjust teaching method in vocational college; enhance the construction of software and hardware in multimedia assisted English teaching and build a suitable English teaching and learning atmosphere;convert school leaders’ concept about multimedia assisted English teaching,and elevate multimedia assisted English teaching’ status in vocational college teaching. |
