"Thousand Character Primer" has been popular for thousands of years, due to its four-character sentence, neat rhythm, easy to read and easy to remember, and relating to the knowledge of many aspects of astronomy, geography, history, ethics and so on. In the implementing education of ancient ruling class, as one of the important elementary template, it not only carries the educational function of the general public, but also plays a classic model for handwriting. A lot of articles in contemporary discuss "Thousand Character Primer", mostly from the reference, literature, language and calligraphy techniques angles to study. In the process of learning penmanship, the author pays attention to some differences between cursive spelling of "Zhi Yong Regular-Cursive Thousand Character Primer" and current style of handwriting. This dissertation selects the ink version of "Zhi Yong Regular-Cursive Thousand Character Primer" collected in Japan as the main object of study, from the perspective of philology, scrutinizing and differentiating by the method of character shape contrast. The controversial style of handwriting and other issues in "Zhi Yong Regular-Cursive Thousand Character Primer" are analysed and discussed, in order to achieve the truth of cursive method itself, so that we understand the process of learning cursive hand is in need of the dialectic and rational way of thinking to learn and analyse.
