New Media Art Expression Studies On Sports Opening Ceremony

Nowadays, large-scale sports opening ceremonies have developed from “supporting role” to become one of the most important symbols of evaluation for the sports event whether succeed or not.2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games opening ceremony, which was with the lowest funds consumption compared to previous global major large-scale sports opening ceremonies. But it showed an amazing artistic effect. Undoubtedly, without the application and support of new media art, such a youth audio-visual feast could not be completed.In this study, by analyzing the case of Nanjing Youth Olympic Games opening ceremony, relying on related researches from the national as well as international large-scale sport opening ceremony, following the methodological combinations of history and reality, foreign and domestic, theoretical and practical, from three dimensions of art, science and society, respectively, to study the new media art expression in large-scale sports opening ceremony. The first part is the introduction: it describes the research background, the purpose and meaning, domestic and abroad related research status, research ideas and methods. The second part is the main body of the research article, which analyses the significance of new media art expression in Nanjing Youth Olympic Games opening ceremony: the first chapter contains the necessity, diversity and application of new media art expression in large-scale sports opening ceremony as well as the artistic process of our national sports opening ceremony. The second chapter analyzes the artistic dimension of emotion based on artistic translation. The third chapter includes the scientific and technological dimensions of the scene based on technical experience. The fourth chapter analyzes the expression of the social dimension of the image-expression based on the humanities and social. The third part is the summary of the whole thesis; it is the inevitable trend of the times to apply new media art expression into large-scale sports opening ceremony. Nanjing Youth Olympic Games opening ceremony has adopted new media art expression to express China all-round and multi-level, which has fully demonstrated the world a novel image of today's China and become a vivid interpretation of "Chinese Story-Telling" in context of the new media.
