On salt and Iron—a special book about the past salt and iron conference written by a scholar named Huan Kuan—truly reflects the political, economic, social,cultural and other aspects in the Western Han Dynasty and exhibits very important value of language material.The negative word is very important in the ancient Chinese,to study the negative word in On Salt and Iron is not only important to know the negative word of the Western Han Dynasty,but also important to establish a frame of negative words that from ancient times to the medal ancient times.Besides,the research of negative words in On Salt and Iron only includes a small paper and the content is not particular.This paper has a detailed description of negative words from three aspects of syntax, semantics and pragmatics in On Salt and Iron as corpus. Moreover, the author concludes the characteristics and law of development after the diachronic comparison with Master Zuo's Spring and Autumn Annals of pre-Qin period and the Eastern Jin Dynasty literature Stories of Immortals.This paper includes four sections.The first section is the introduction,mainly introduce On Salt and Iron, the research situation,the purpose of research and the way of research.The second part is the body, including Chapter II to Chapter VII,which mainly introduces the key negative words in the Salt and Iron, such as "no", "non", ect. At the beginning of each chapter is a literature review on the various negative words. Then describes in the aspects of the grammar, semantics,pragmatics, and diachronic comparison, etc. Finally, attach the table of diachronic comparison to "Zuo Zhuan", "Immortals" at the end of each chapter. The third part introduces the negative words not commonly used in the Salt and Iron. The fourth part is the conclusion, which summarizes the negative words in the Salt and Iron, and a table is made attached to the end of the article,to clearly overview the negative words in this article.
