Subjective well-being represents a kind of comprehensive subjective satisfaction evaluation. Nowadays, more and more people pay due attention to subjective well-being. In the face of various pressures from internal and external, the happiness of high school repeat students, a special group, is worrying. Many high school repeat students repeatedly lead to tragedy because of the overwhelming pressure. However, under the same pressure, there are also some repeat students who can turn pressure into motive force, actively adjust their coping ways, positively face the difficulties, calmly face the university entrance exam with joyful mood, and achieve a good level.This study selected 350 high school repeat students and 350 high school students in grade three from the same school as the research subjects. Through the questionnaire research, this stud use T-test, analysis of variance, correlation, and the mediation effect of research methods such as sorts through the data analysis, combining with previous research to explore the relationship between coping style and subjective well-being. Through the relations among the three variables, this study puts forward the effective method to improve the repeat students subjective well-being. In the end, the following conclusions:(1)High school repeat students and high school students in grade three differences in achievement motivation, coping styles and subjective well-being significantly.For repeat students,the motivation of pursuiting of success and avoiding failure were higher than that of fresh graduates. They use more self-blame coping-style fewer help coping-style, lowever satisfaction of friendship, freedom, satisfaction, environment, positive emotions and life satisfaction scores.(2)Achievement motivation, coping styles and subjective well-being of high school repeat students have significant differences in gender, origin of student, whether only children, liberal arts branch, and the university entrance exam, etc.(3)The Correlation between coping styles of high school repeat students and high school students in grade three between achievement motivation and subjective well-being is remarkable.Pursuing success motivation and positive coping was positively related, and negatively correlated with negative coping, was positively correlated with subjective well-being. Avoid failure of motivation, and negatively correlated with positive coping and negative coping were positively correlated, and negatively correlated with subjective well-being. Subjective well-being and coping with negative correlation were positively correlated with negative coping.(4)The mediation effect about Coping styles of high school repeat students and high school students in grade three between achievement motivation and subjective well-being is remarkable.(5)The path of achievement motivation, coping styles and subjective well-being relationship of high school repeat students is slightly different from the path of high school students in grade three.For high school repeat students,positive coping style partially mediated the relationship between the motivation of pursuing success and subjective well-being, and fully mediated in the relationship of the motivation of avoiding failure and subjective well–being. Negative coping style partially mediated the relationship between the motivation of pursuing success and subjective well-being, and fully mediated in the relationship of the motivation of avoiding failure and subjective well–being. For high school students in grade three, positive coping style fully mediated in the relationship of the motivation of both pursuing success and avoiding failure and subjective well–being. Negative coping style fully mediated in the relationship of the motivation of both pursuing success and avoiding failure and subjective well–being.
