The Research On Official Leave System In The Song Dynasty

Our holiday system has a long history, its origins dating back to ancient times, more inclusion in the imperial princes parade dabbled in other activities. Song leave system develop a leave system with distinct characteristics, which absorb the successful experience of generations before and combined with the social situation.Song for leave provisions are more loose and comfortable than the previous generation broad, the wide degree of its provisions are in a prominent place in our ancient history.Relaxed leave provisions not just enrich the daily lives of officials but to promote the development of cultural industries,as well as improve the efficiency of government officials.This paper consists of four parts,which studied the Song Dynasty official holiday system.The first part, make an overview for official systems before the Song Dynasty. It was divided into four periods, namely the Pre-Qin Dynasty, Qin and Han Dynasty, Southern and Northern Dynasty and the Sui and Tang Dynasty.The second part, to sort out the formation and development process of the Song Dynasty official holiday system. The system start-up in Tai Zu Taizong period, pass through the development of Zhenzong,Renzong,Yingzong and so on, it towards gradually complete.The third part, to summarize Song officials leave types, rules and characteristics.Officials leave species, divided into two categories,private and public holidays. Public holidays include holiday leave, ten days leave, the country death leave, the leave of take up an official post,the leave of after roll call,court leave and another circumstances to leave.Private holidays include marriage leave, beravement leave, sick leave, family leave, personal leave,and so on. In additio, to the leave provisions and features of the system have also been discussed.The forth part, Song Dynasty official holiday has impact on the social life and cultural life. Focuses on recreational activities in official holidays, and analyze the impact on social life and culture.Based on collating and studing the relevant information of the Song Dynasty official holiday system, learning from previous research, combined with characteristics of the times,to show up the Song Dynasty official holiday system more comprehensive, and hope to have a deeper understanding.
