| Shuicheng Peasant Painting of Guizhou is a popular painting that is different from the college style. Authors of these paintings are some native peasants. With the aid of the skill of paper cutting, embroidery, wax printing and cross-stitch work, these peasants use the painting brush to replace the stitch, the pigment to replace the thread, the paper to replace the cloth to paint their life, customs, beliefs and so on. Their free and creative thinking makes the Peasant Painting full of unique artistic features, and the fine arts is also full of a strong local, national and native styles. From the perspective of art theory, this paper tries to interpret its artistic language and analyze its artistic features and styles. The author hopes this paper will create theoretical significance and practical significance for the development and promotion of Shuicheng Peasant Painting.The paper is divided into six parts, with more than 30,000 words. The first part describes the general situation of Shuicheng Peasant Painting. It traces back to the origin and development history of the Peasant Painting in China, and focuses on the history and present situation of Shuicheng Peasant Painting. The second part introduces the creation subjects, the thinking mode and creative ways of Shuicheng Peasant Painting. The third part analyzes the artistic features of Shuicheng Peasant Painting from three aspects:composition, color and shape. The fourth part is the core part of this paper. The fifth part introduces some of the most representative peasant painters, such as Dong Cheng, Yang Mingying and Xu Chengbo, and then interprets and analyzes some of their representative works. The sixth part, from the angle of politics, culture and folk art inherit, this paper introduces the realistic meaning and value of Shuicheng Peasant Painting. |
