A Project Report On Liaison Interpreting For China-West Asia And North Africa Countries Small & Medium Enterprises Cooperation Forum

With the rapid social and economic development, China has been actively involved in international society. On the one hand, more and more businessmen and enterprises joined in the political, economic and cultural activities with other countries. On the other hand, more and more foreign businessmen have come to China for investment and trades. The China-West Asia and North Africa Countries Small & Medium Enterprises Cooperation Forum is one of such international activities.Based on the author's liaison interpreting for Mr. Osama Jafar, the head of the Sudanese delegation, she concludes the difficulties and obstacles encountered, including inadequate grasp of textile terminology, poor listening comprehension caused by Arabic accent, and the handling of unpredictable situations. In the light of her own practical experience, the author puts forward corresponding solutions for these difficulties, such as establishing personal corpus, and summing up the characteristics of Arabic accent, etc. The author hopes that related problems and shortcomings can be resolved, and the suggestions can be useful for other interpreters.
