The Influence And Enlightenment Of Buddhist Thought On Vietnamese Modern Education

With Buddhism goes back to more than two thousand years old and after introducing the Buddhism to Vietnam, it was affected to every aspects of Vietnamese society. The research basically focused on core concepts of Buddhist thought and heavily discussed the impact of Buddhist thought on Vietnamese modern education.There are three parts mainly in the research. Firstly, Overview of Buddhist thought in Vietnam, including the introduction and development of Buddhism from the point of historical view, introduction to Buddhism, Buddhist thought, Buddhist thought in Vietnam and the influence of Buddhist thought on Vietnamese society. Secondly, there is a discussion on the influence of Buddhist thought on Vietnamese modern education, its eligibility to fulfill the educational goals, educational content and educational management. Thirdly, the enlightenment of Buddhist thought on Vietnamese modern education, including stressing students’ personality education and life consciousness education, and paying attention to the guidance of students’ mind, the environment culture atmosphere, teachers’ professional quality and some other aspects.In short, Buddhist thought has made a significant impact on social, intellectual, moral and behavior of the Vietnamese. Research on the development of Buddhist thought in Vietnam and its influence on Vietnamese modern education, is advantageous to the comprehensive understanding of Vietnamese religious belief condition and the development of Vietnamese modern education.
