A Study Of Jizhao Language In Guangdong

Jizhao language,which is the language of the Jizhao village of Tanba Town of Wuchuan of Zhanjiang City in the Guangdong Province. At present,there are few research achievement about Jizhao language,and the status of it have not decided. Guangdong was the residence of the ancient Yue ethnicities. It still left a lot of substrate words and some grammar.Relatively speaking, the west part of Guangdong is closer to Guangxi than the other parts. Of course, the underlying language phenomenon will be more commonly. Zhanjiang was the residence of the ancient Yue ethnicities. In consideration of the fact, we can definitively say that Jizhao village has the background of national languages.According to the revision of the table of one hundred words of Swadesh, we compare the core words in Jizhao language and Kai-Tai languages,and find that fifty-six words are highly consistent with Lingao language.Of the others, six words are consistent with Zhuang language,seven words are consistent with Cantonese, one word are consistent with Min Dialect. But we have not found the similar pronunciations about 30 words. Thus, we can preliminarily judge that Jizhao language is not a Chinese dialect, but a language of Kai-Tai languages.Base on the fieldworks and predecessors’ achievements, this paper is mainly to sort out the phonetic system of Jizhao language,focus on the core words and the relatives between and among Jizhao language,Kai-Tai languages,Cantonese and Min Dialect through languages contact and meaning comparative approach. From these,we can the interactions between the Chinese dialects and national languages. Jizhao language is a kind of memory,which has been highly endangered. In addition to the perspective of languages contact, this article also focuses on the research status of Jizhao language, analyzes the reasons, and points out the protection measures.
