An Analysis On The Refereeing Ability Cultivation Among University Students Majoring In Sports Dance In Henan Province

With the widespread promotion of nationwide body-building, sports dance could be seen "everywhere". The universities/colleges in Henan province have also attached great importance to sports dance. In recent years, many institutions start to offer sports dance courses, which to a certain extent encourages the cultivation of sports dance professionals and boosts the development of sport dance. However, facilitated by this rapid development, the social demand for sports dance referees are constantly increasing, especially for high quality and high level referees. Under this circumstance, universities and colleges in Henan province are facing a challenging task to foster more excellent sports dancers. Meanwhile, what is also called for is the refereeing ability cultivation among students majoring in sports dance.A person's refereeing ability consists in the way s/he evaluates others' performance on the spot. Refereeing ability of sports dance includes the lofty professional ethics, the great command of theoretical knowledge in the field of sports dance, the familiarity with the rule system, and most importantly the spontaneous practical ability as a referee on the spot. Cultivating sports dance professionals and improving refereeing ability could help make up the faulty of backup talents, which contributes to the development of sports dance and the construction of referee troops in our country.In this paper the author seeks to analyze the current situation of talent cultivation of sports dance major in the universities and colleges of Henan province. The research methodologies employed to complete this paper include literature review, individual interviews, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics and logical reasoning. Students in eight universities/colleges which offer the sports dance major in Henan province are invited as the correspondents. In addition, the author also interviewed many teachers and collected their suggestions on the blueprint of how to better cultivate sports dance major students' refereeing ability. In the final analysis, this paper will reveal the existing problems and try to prescribe some corresponding feasible solutions.The first part introduces the objective of this paper. In this part, the concept of sports dance, the development of sports dance in both Henan province and the country and the importance of cultivating sports dance major students' refereeing ability are listed, which indicate the purpose and significance of this study. Meanwhile, this part involves the elaboration on the theoretical concepts and the current situation of the teaching of sports dance in institutions, especially the illustration of current sports dance teaching methods and existing research findings.The second part gives a detailed introduction to the research methodologies employed including literature review, individual interviews, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics and logical reasoning.The third part will focus on the research analysis and findings. In this section, the author first illustrates the composition of refereeing competence. Then the paper will carry out a focused analysis on the current situation of both students' refereeing competence in Henan province and the cultivation process there which trains students to gain that competence. Next, the author will try to discover and conclude the factors which result in the current situation from four perspectives: institutions, teachers, students and social environments. Finally, the author would provide six corresponding and possibly feasible solutions:(1) to draft a scientific and systemic cultivation plan which could increase students' interest in learning refereeing ability;(2) to foster students' refereeing ability with the effective assistance of English and computer science teaching and learning;(3) to optimize and improve the existing system and plan of cultivation;(4) to enhance the comprehensive quality of sports dance major teachers;(5) to give students more practice opportunity through the cooperation with authorities and social institutions;(6) to invite more experienced professionals to give instructions for students.The fourth part would summarize all the main research findings and solutions with a brief, clear and conclusive review, which sheds light on the significance and orientation of optimizing the future system of cultivating sports dance students' refereeing ability in universities/colleges of Henan province.
