Suona(also Laba) comes from the southeast of Shandong Province. As a form of folk art, it has had an important impact in China and its traditional compositions such as ‘a flower''Phoenix'are well known to all. Experts and scholors have ever focused on the musical features or artistic characteristics.In the current era of carrying forward the traditional culture and protection of cultural heritage, the Suona in southwest of Shandong was rated as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2006. From then,the successors, the representatives, the inheritance mechanism and other concerns are increasingly prominent. Therefore, a fruitful research results are presented on those. However,that kind of research is intolerance.That is to say, the Suona is often taken as an art form or culture specimen and it is ignored as civil society grass-roots culture,which is basically depended on "the suona" and folk custom activity.Above all, there are few independent performance mode "Suona art".“With the hide gone, what can the hair adhere to?”Presented "the Suona ensemble in the Southwest state of research" this subject, it aims to comb through the historical evolution of the suona ensemble in the Southwest, to investigate the Suona ensemble in the Southwest the current activity,to combine with the Suona at the function of folk culture, to explore the southwest of the Suona ensemble in rheological state of traditional folk and social function.Those provided for protection of the form of musical heritage a new frame,and the traditional folk activity in the process of urbanization construction of grass-roots cultural traditions,cultural function reference.This paper is divided into four chapters.Chapter I notes and describes its living conditions and social and cultural background, including its social identity, its practice of the performer and jargon and so on. Combined the historical material and oral history,the chapter presents its several phases respectively, such as the 1950`s,the"cultural revolution”period, after the end of the cultural revolution and the survival status of the Suona ensemble in the new era of history...ChapterII summarizes the suona performance characteristics and analysis the types of its band,its performance,skills,style,etc.Chapter III selects the"wedding"and"the funeral"as two typical folk customs, it records and analyzes the role of folk activities,interactive way,and interpretation of art and folklore.The fourth chapter makes a profound thinking about the Suona in the Southwest state.The problems we must face as the following: Can the master like Ren Tongxiang continue to occur on our roads ?Can typical works like a flower continue to occur?How to protect and inherit the traditional art form?How to face government measures and limitations of academic salvage job? How to meet the challenges of urbanization…The paper focuses the Suona in the southwest of Shandong province on Suona class-- the social organizations on the ontology.The paper also pays attention to analysis the Suona in the history and society as a whole. In order to clarify the various views on the Suona studies in the Southwest and to protect and develop the folk art activities,the paper provids a new perspective and a valuable reference of reality on the Suona.
