Psychological verb is a small class of verbs.It become an important and difficult part in verb research and teaching Chinese as a foreign language because of the complicated semantic and flexible syntax functions.Therefore,understanding the collocation objects and summarizing collocation characteristics is a necessary condition and an effective way to master psychological verb. For the verb research and teaching Chinese as a foreign language, the study of modern Chinese psychological verb collocation has important significance.This paper chose 33 psychological verbs from first-degree words of the Syllabus of Chinese Words and Characters as the research object, and put them into nine semantic categories including thinking, awareness, knowing,and so on. We extracted the collocation objects from National Language Committee Balanced Corpus of modern Chinese. Combined with "Modern Chinese Dictionary" and "Verbs Usage Dictionary" we get the typical collocations of these psychological verbs. Then we showed their collocations in verb-object phrases, adverbial-verb phrase and verb-complement phrase in tabular form,and divided the collocation objects into different semantic classes. After that, we analyzed the errors made by students when using the psychological verbs with the help of HSK Dynamic Composition Corpus.The study found that errors tend to occur in verb-object phrases, and the main cause of mistake is semantic confusion.Based on these research, we put forward some ideas and suggestions to the application of psychological verb collocation in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. We believe that the research results of psychological verb collocation can be applied to the compilation of dictionaries for non-native Chinese learners, to supplement original material and collocation information for these dictionaries. It can also provide teaching material for new words study and word distinctions in classroom teaching when teaching Chinese as second language.It contributes to clearing the rules for using psychological verb and broadening the classroom teaching ideas.
