In the first half of twentieth Century,China was in a period that politics,economy and culture were constantly changing and the development of the new culture movement made the Chinese traditional culture have a qualitative change.Chang Yu,pan Yuliang,Lin Fengmian as the representatives of the artists who traveled to France,hold the opinion that fusing the Chinese culture and the Western culture to the develop the traditional Chinese art.In their paintings they emphasized on subjectivity and freehand,and hold the opinion that expressing the painters’ subjective feelings by painting,which highlighted the modern consciousness,and distinguished from the opinion of Beihong Xu etc.that reforming the ideal of the traditional Chinese painting with “westernization”.In their artistic works,there was a heavy sense of “image beauty”.Yu Chang,Yuliang Pan,Fengmian Lin created a large number of female nude paintings under the influence of the western female nude painting theme in the first half of twentieth century.But due to the influence of the traditional Chinese art,their creations displayed a totally different aesthetic style with the female nude paintings of the western artists.Although they drew on the western concepts and painting methods,there were still a unique "Chinese flavor".This paper takes the different era background and the aesthetic conception in the first half of twentieth Century between China and the western countries as the premise,and takes the female nude art of the representatives: Yu Chang,Yuliang Pan,Fengmian Lin who traveled to as the starting point,mainly discusses the characteristics of the female nude art which mixed both Chinese and the western characteristics and its highlighted "Chinese flavor",and makes a horizontal comparison with the impressionism female art nude in the same period.The These artists who traveled to France absorbed the essence of the western “modernity” art and were meanwhile influenced by the China’s “innovation” concept,showing the the female nude art in an eastern modern art form.This paper adopts the research methods of iconology,makes a summary of the common characteristics in the female nude art.They expressed the idea “calligraphy and painting are of the same origin’ with the drawing lines,created the calligraphy style of freehand brushwork and new sketch style,introduced the Chinese traditional elements and folk art into the creation,which enriched the painting language;introduced the painting media of the Chinese traditional literati paintings into the western painting techniques,which broadened the expression methods of painting,mutual integrated the “image beauty” of the traditional Chinese paintings with the “decorative” of the Western art,forming a female nude art with a “Chinese flavor”.In their creations,they did not discipline to just one media and expression method,truly brought the female nude art into scope of artistic creation,injecting the fresh blood into the reform of the Chinese "modernity" art,giving a new interpretation of the oriental art.Only truly understand the female nude art of these artists who traveled to France,can we point out a correct new direction for the development of the current nude art. |
