For a long time,Translation has been treated as an imitative rather than a creative activity. That is the reason why traditional research on style was mostly about the transfer of style in the original text. However, with the rise of descriptive translation studies and corpus linguistics, researchers discovered that the literal translator's style was existence in translation which was hard to detect by readers. The corpus-based research on translator's style is the research that it needs quantitative and qualitative description of statistics at lexical and syntactic levels in translation versions to reveal translators' style, which can further analyze the comprehensive pragmatic features of the lexical, syntactic level of the translated text.As an organic combination of quantitative research and qualitative research, corpus has provided a scientific and effective approach for research on translator's style. The study profoundly and systematically analyzes the characteristics of two Chinese versions of Hamlet in lexical and syntactical levels with the tools of corpus analysis, hoping to study translator's style in a wide and scientific view. The study also briefly describes translator's original intention, motivation, purpose, process, influence, validity and deeds of translating as a research pointcut to study translators' style. The whole thesis is composed of five parts: Part?,the introduction, makes a brief statement on the main points of the current research, and points out the significance of the research on Shakespeare's Hamlet from the perspective of translator's style with corpus as well as offers the structure of the thesis.Part? introduces the situation of Hamlet's translation in China, mainly about ten famous versions. Also, the research achievements on the Chinese versions of this play are included in this part, with the purpose to show the practicability and the novelty of the study on Hamlet from the perspective of corpus and translator's style. It further give a simple interpretation of the research on translator's style, development of corpus translation with translator's style, helping better study translator's style with the tool of corpus.Part ? is about constructed corpus. This part explains theprinciples of building the Corpus, which make clearly the steps of self-built small corpus. It also gives research method by using corpus technology for translator's style.Part IV analyzes various phenomenons behind the two Chinese versions of Hamlet by analysis and comparison on the type-token ratio, word list, word frequency, average sentence length and sentence structures, giving abundant examples and data to show different translator's style in different version.Final part is the conclusion of the whole thesis. It further mentions the deficiency of the thesis which can be left for the future study.
