Chinese history had the biggest development in Song Dynasty. Song Dynasty was one of the important periods of the development of Chinese ancient historiography. Song Dynasty attached great importance to historical education, especially history education in the schools.With the impact of rulers' attention, under the impetus of the imperial examination system and inscribe industry of history books, under the joint action, the history education in Song Dynasty began to rise. Based on this, history education in school which is the important part in Song Dynasty history education was booming. It had made many remarkable achievements in the fields of culture and had produced profound influence for Song Dynasty as well as Yuan,Ming, Qing Dynasty.Schools in Song Dynasty mainly included three forms, such as primary schools, official schools and colleges. Due to these schools are different from nature of running and education objects. So the teaching materials, teaching methods as well as contents are different of each other. The history education in primary schools used children's history books as teaching materials, and teached children historical knowledge, ethical, moral knowledge. Teaching methods are consists of reading, receiving and step by step methods which are easily for children to understand. Official schools and colleges used scriptures and history books as teaching materials for the students. Official schools and colleges also focused on using the methods of direct-teaching, teaching discussion method, self-study with guidance as well as investigation method. The reducing conditions of entrance and children became school history education objects made history education in Song Dynasty had character of generalization. In Song Dynasty, neo-confucianism had a profound influence in every filed, and it had a character of neo-confucianism under the influence of history education.In Song Dynasty, the history education at schools promoted the development of historiography. Under the influence of history education at schools, there were numerous historical talents in Song Dynasty, they had written many history books and innovated historiography style. The history books and historiography style had a profound influence to the whole society after development. In Song Dynasty, the schools developed the history of poetry through history education activities, and promoted the literary history. Under the influence of history education at schools, not only story-telling had developed rapidly but also appeared many story-telling artists and story-telling scripts, the folk historiography hadentered a new stage of development in Song Dynasty.
