Analysis Of China Contemporary Oil Painting Complanation

The evolvement of oil painting in China has experienced a shift from using single realistic method to adopting various painting technique.In contemporary oil painting world,artists are inclined to use the expression of flatness.This tendency is not only the option of artists on the basis of the preference of their composition,but has more to do with the fast-paced society where we are living now.The center of painting’s expression is no longer the reproduction of three-dimensional space,but the expression of subjective sensation.Oil paintings which display the flatness are highly favored by artists in contemporary painting world in China.And the flatness has even been one of the styles that the artists are most likely to choose.However,this change is not accomplished at one stroke,and there must be a process of exploration.As far back as 1920’s and 1930’s,the flatness has its embryo in oil painting in China.But it wasn’t been fully evolved due to its special historical background.Throughout the whole history of art,the emerging and evolvement of every paint form has its significant meaning,absolutely not by accident,and is inseparable from the persistent pursuit and exploration of the artists.The development of oil painting in China was deeply affected by western paintings.As come to oil painting markets,men of talent come out in succession and the form of art are becoming increasingly diverse.Lots of theorist has focus their theoretical research on the flatness in the contemporary oil painting.Therefore,in this paper,I would extract the characteristics of the flatness in the well-known artists’ artworks in the contemporary oil painting world.Then,I would depict the significant contribution made by these artists to the contemporary oil painting and point out their influences on my practice in oil painting.On the whole,the evolvement and flourish of the contemporary oil painting in China cannot look down upon the expression of the flatness,and the flatness had highly broadened the space of art expression.In addition,artists have composed series of laconic artworks to open the door of modern art,and the flatness is an indelible mark in the contemporary pictorial art world.
