Study On The Generating Mechanism Of Synaesthesia

Since Qian Zhongshu had clearly defined on the synaesthesia,studies of synesthesia is gradually formed,especially after the mid 1990 s,and the scholars take it more and more seriously.And the research is conducted wider and wider.In this paper,we take the synaesthesia as the key point of the research with other aspect's research involved.It is divided into five chapter.The first chapter is the introduction of this paper.Firstly,a simple comb of the historical origin of synaesthesia.Secondly,a review of the related researches of synaesthesia is made in order to dipict the development track of synaesthesia.Thirdly,according to the definition made by Qian Zhongshu,we kick out the example which are not conform to the scope of synaesthesia for laying a foundation for the following writing.The second chapter is the classification standard and the subject generating mechanism's research of the synaesthesia.Whether the two objects involved in synaesthesia appear in the same time and space,and as well classified as a standard by people's senses and feelings at the same time,synaesthesia is divided into two categories: the one is in the same space-time which means constitute synaesthesia with exaggerated deformation;the other is in a different space-time which means synaesthesia is produced by similar associations.Then on the basis of the second type,it is divided into two small categories: the one is the synaesthesia generated by the similar form;the other is the synaesthesia generated by the similarly of content.Due to the exaggerated and association are the main characteristics of thinking.So the above classification standard is actually analyzed from the perspective of the subject mechanism of synaesthesia.The third chapter is the object generating mechanism's research of the synaesthesia.Research on the material characteristics involved by the generation of synaesthesia and make a classification,which is mainly divided into two categories: the one is the intangible nature of things;the other is the tangible things.And finally conclude that the classification of the material characteristics of the synaesthesia is accordance with the classification of the subject mechanism of the synaesthesiaThe fourth chapter is the syntactic features research of the generation of synaesthesia.Through the analysis of the examples cited in the paper.We find the syntactic relations which constitute the main body and the moving body have three types which are the subject-predicate structure,the subject-object structure and the structure of modification.The fifth chapter is the new development of synaesthesia.In this paper,through the comparative study of ancient and modern synaesthesia examples,we can draw the following conclusions: firstly,synaesthesia evolves into a communication among three different kinds of senses from the communication between the two original senses;secondly,the connection between the two things is more and more unique and increasingly blurred;thirdly,it should pay more attention to the details.The last conclusion is a summary of the paper and a reflection on the deficiency of this article.
