In the end of 20 th century,numbers of Indian from areas like India,eastern Afri ca moved to Britain.This phenomenon could be explained in the following three aspe cts – Britain,India and eastern Africa.After World War II,the Infrastructure and econ omy of Great Britain were damaged badly,which needed rebuild.The huge lack of w ork forces pushed Great Britain to encourage people to immigrate there,and publishe d The British Nationality Act 1948,which attracted large quantities of immigrants co ming from British colonies,India included.India was just founded,the society is not s table enough.Factors as Religions Conflict,employment pressure,low speed of econo my growth,bad education system and the air pollution forced a lot of Indians to leav e their country for better opportunities,obviously their formal metropolitan states bec ome their first option.Indians who moved to Britain can be roughly divided into three different categ ories: labor migrants from India for job hunting and career development,family migr ants from India for family reunion,and Indian immigrants from East Africa to escap e from disaster.A large number of Indian immigrants settled in Britain.They maintai ned their own characteristics and kept their habits and customs,forming the Indian co mmunities,which were divided from the locals.However,as time goes on,some desce ndants of Indian immigrants began to involve themselves in the mainstream society.The increasing immigrant population upset some native British.Against the ba ckdrop of appeals for restricting immigration,the British government has launche d a series of policies to impose restriction on immigration.Meanwhile,maintaining g ood race relations has become an important issue that cannot be ignored.Race Relati ons Act was thus issued,together with immigration restriction bills,establishing a rel atively comprehensive legal system of colored immigrant treatment.It offers valuabl e experience for countries which are facing similar immigration challenges.Immigrat ion also has non-ignorable effects on exporting countries,including talent losses an d damages to the society and economy in different degrees.To these countries,impro ving the social environment to prevent further talent losses is a key issue.
