The painting theory of Chinese traditional literati painters implied Chinese traditional aesthetic concepts and philosophies which also have high values to the construction of spiritual world and spread of cultural connotation of modern people.The quiet mental state and pursuit of aesthetic ideal of Chinese traditional literati painters in artistic creation are well worth of reference by modern meticulous figure painting.Having experienced thousands of years development and reform,the problem of representing age features and contemporary aesthetic features at the same time in meticulous figure painting works should be considered and solved by modern painters.Following social change and time development,the Chinese civilization is also changing under the circumstance of diversified global cultures.The development of modern science and technology has promoted development of painting in certain degree which also lays a foundation of meticulous figure painting study in pigments,colors,skills and theories and thus forms a systematical,innovative,nearly integrated painting system and brand-new painting method.After the concept “modern” is recognized and aware of,people should pursuit a more natural innovation concept as well as discover and dig out traditional culture value in the creation.Only connecting “modern” of meticulous figure painting with “tradition” of Chinese art,can the cultural foundation be established and better development be having for modern meticulous figure painting.This paper started from analysis and understanding of cultural thoughts and theories of traditional “literati painting” and understood the important influences of aesthetic ideology in traditional “literati painting” on the development and creation of meticulous figure painting though studying basic aesthetic quality of traditional “literati painting” and seeking modern and traditional culture default as well as exploring Chinese aesthetics.It started from how to inherit ideological connotation and aesthetic taste of traditional “literati painting” and blended silence,freehand,humanistic feelings into meticulous creation to create paintings that can both cover modern people's spiritual appearance and represent traditional painting spirit.This barely made the paintings separate from “literati painting” essence and gave it new feelings and aesthetic taste with Chinese mood.This paper explored and practiced innovation for meticulous painting from different angles and approaches which at last made modern meticulous figure paining form different features comparing with past in many aspects including narrative method,skill language and modeling.
