| Yoshimoto Banana was born in Tokyo,Japan in 1964.Since she published her first novel after university in 1987,Banana has come out almost fifty novels and nearly forty essays and she has also written more than twenty works with other authors in the nearly three decades.Due to the unique style,Banana’s novels became the best seller for a long time in the late 1980 s and the early 1990 s.Hence,there came the Yoshimoto Banana Phenomenon that created such a sensation in Japanese literary world.This thesis aims to make a detailed analysis on the life experience and literary works of Banana.This thesis starts its research from Yoshimoto Banana Phenomenon.It makes reference to the monographs,research papers,and periodicals by the Japanese academia on Yoshimoto Banana’s works,and it also makes reference to Banana’s essays,proses,and her works that cooperates with other authors.This thesis abstracts the main ideas of all these preceding productions.On the basis of these abstracts,the author’s living environment and the historical background,this thesis aims to analyze the research tendency and value trend of the Japanese academia on Banana’s works,and to introduce the researches about Banana’s works of Japanese academia in detail to the Chinese academia.This thesis can be divided into three sections.The first section is the introduction part which aims to make a brief introduction of the previous studies in China on Yoshimoto Banana.Then,it concludes the characteristics of these previous studies.Based on the characteristics,this thesis points out the necessity of introducing the previous studies by Japanese scholars on Banana’s works to the Chinese academia.The second section is the body part,including four chapters.Chapter One mainly analyzes the Yoshimoto Banana Phenomenon in Japan and in the world.Chapter Two concerns with the experience and literary works of Yoshimoto Banana.The first two sections of Chapter Two mainly introduce Banana’s childhood and how the experience during her childhood influences her productions;the third section of this chapter aims to analyze the studies by the Japanese scholars on Banana’s works and to make a summary on these studies.Chapter Three,titled ‘The Study of Yoshimoto Banana’s Literary Characteristics’,chiefly illustrates the characteristics of Banana’s novels from the perspectives of the style of her cartoons for female,the warm and straightforward language,the literary images used to dramatize the whole situation,the flexible space-time of narration,and the construction of family mode that does not on the basis of kinship.Chapter Four mainly gives a detailed analysis of the observations by Japanese academia about Yoshimoto Banana’s works from the perspective of comparative literature.The last section is the conclusion part.This section is to analyze and conclude the tendency of research and trend of value by Japanese academia about Yoshimoto Banana’s literary works. |
