The New Researches Of Point、Line、Plane In Book Design

Graphic design(also known as visual communication design)is a main research field of plastic arts,it use vision as a means of communication and performance,through the arrangement or combination of elements,such as graphics,color,text,symbols,etc.constitute the visual language of certain means,whereby convey certain emotions or informations.Book design as an important part of the graphic design,besides possess the universality features of graphic design,also has its uniqueness.For example,in book design,the designer must first in mind that harmonized words and pictures in the page and keep the unified style of the multiple pages.Point,line,plane is the most basic elements of plastic arts,is the basis for make up design,it is because of combination and function of a number of different forms,such as the size,shape,color and so on,to produce a variety of different techniques of expression and visual images.In book design,how to arrangement of the layout is how to arrangement of point,line,plane in the final analysis.Based on research at home and abroad,in this paper,through collected a large number of books with the recent design style and discussions of academic monograph,from the three basic elements of books design,combining the overview of point,line,plane and its general tendency of emotion,analyze point,line,plane’s significance in book design in detail,also through enumerated some current relevant book design works,put forward some new connotation and value of point,line,plane in book design.
