When it comes to philosophers,a "western" monument will be created in people's minds naturally, and this monument often indicates one of the origins of western thoughts-ancient Greek and Roman times, during which there were three philosophers as Socrates,Plato,Aristotle, all of whom having obvious "master and apprentice" relationships between each other. What's more, they all had had positive discussions on various concepts such as "love","self-control" and "virtue";More importantly,Aristotle,as the last philosopher among the above three who appeared at that time, held his own ideological thoughts, which are usually regarded to have undertaken a number of these two former philosophers' positive thought achievements,to which the two former great men devoted their whole life. And more or less he did make meticulous analyses and innovations on some certain thoughts from his teachers, thus becoming the most-welcomed research objects in ethics nowadays.Aristotle's ethical views are mainly reflected in a masterpiece "the ethics of Mark".From the first volume of"good" and "soul" to the tenth volume of "happiness","felicity","legislation",Aristotle took advantage of his own unique reasoning methods for people to interpret from his opinions what correct ideas and proper actions were. But however,in this series of volumes, the topic of"self-control" and reasoning methods from the seventh volume "self-control and happiness"have attracted my attention. The importance of it in Aristotle's ethics is no less than the concepts of "happiness","virtue" and so on.Therefore, this article begins emphatically from the definition of Aristotle's concept of"self-control",and then 1 will compare concepts such as "happiness" and "felicity" to it,and gradually we can find the true meaning of "self-control",and only in this way are we able to discover the right attitude and proper method to be taken when faced with"not-self-controlled" and "acolasia".Along the Aristotle's thought path,we will also discuss the subtle relationships and their positive effect on life, between "self-control" and"happiness","felicity" and "happiness".And then returning to the present China's specific national conditions,I will make a conclusion that we have to review and survey the theoretical value and practical significance of the role of "self-control" to meet the desire of achieving the "China dream".
