Idealistic Life In The Distance And Individual Life In The Present

Because of the existence circumstances that exiled in France, Milan Kundera thought deeply on the issues individual existence in his in novels creations that we cannot ignore the system of the typical female images. Kundera used the metaphoric structure to shape and describe the typical female images, and hid the abundant connotation into the typical female images, plot, time and space, to reveal the exploration of reality and the soul.To the typical female images in Kundera's novels, the exile was the background of their life. By thinking about this, Kundera's writing focused on the perception and exploration of the typical female images to the reality, he also added some thinking about ego and soul to break through the existence predicament and find the residence of soul and body.The thesis is consists of five parts. The first chapter is the introduction, introducing the life and literary creation, the present research status of Kundera and his novels, the research contents and emphasis of the thesis. The second chapter concentrates on the typical female images and their life in exile: First of all, introducing the living circumstances under the political influence, and the special significance to the female, by using this as the background analysis of the Exploration of their living circumstances; then choosing four typical female images, based on the detailed analysis of them, presented their life in exile, their struggle and exploration. The third chapter is focusing on the awakening of soul and self-salvation. I also choose three typical female images as the analysis objects, to discuss the way of their self-salvation of females. The fourth chapter analyzes the typical female images' outcome of the exploring road, and their common keywords: the metaphor of dreamland, hope of “The Idyllic Pastorals”, the death, the fracture of meaning and the metaphor of it. Finally, combing with Kundera's living circumstances, the author tries to analyze the causes of the outcome(the typical female images' exploring road), and the significance of the typical female images.By the analysis and argument of this thesis, we came conclude: the outcome of these typical female images is leading to meaningless. But we should point out that the thinking of these images had a profound meaning. By writing these images, Kundera was trying to present the living dilemma and provided a new perspective of exploring the possibility of human existence.
