After the founding of new China, it is an indisputable fact of the changes of writers’ fate and the transformation of literature road. The new era background not only provides them with an opportunity, but also regulates their autonomy invisibly. All writers in the period of "seventeen years" are obliged to face the important issues of the conflict between individuals ideal and the demand of the era along with the collision and transformation between the inherent ideological thoughts and new ideology. And from the perspective of Ba Jin as well as his creation activities in this stage, this paper focuses discussion on the coincidence and alienation between Ba Jin’s individual thoughts and the era discourse in combination with his age impressions and experience and in the mean while makes clear of Ba Jin’s thoughts thread. The paper can be divided into three parts:The first part focuses on the analysis of Ba Jin’s “self-expression" in this period and discusses Ba Jin’s impression of new China and how he to posit him in such a special era in combination with details of his work, as well as after that how he to write the "new era".The second part analyzes the inherent thoughts of Ba Jin meticulously, especially the connection between anarchism and his profound literature and life ideal, and discusses coincidence between the ideal and contemporary ideology to reveal the deep motivation for Ba Jin’s "transformation".The third part mainly discusses Ba Jin’s life predicament, for instance, walk and stop, love and hate, light and dark, belief or not, to regard Ba Jin’s "transformation" as a "choice" in these difficulties rather than "rupture".
