Abstract:The gamification of business and education, as well as the use of electronic portable devices are strong tendencies in our contemporary society. This study aims to research the contribution that gamification and electronic portableeducational platforms (or simply "educational apps") can bring to Chinese language teaching, and also clarify how this gamified electronic platforms could supplement the lacks of traditional teachings methods, letting the learners enter a world with low study pressure, instant feedback and other advantages of games to make studying more lively and effective. This research will discuss how to apply the advantages of gamification and educational apps to the particularities of Chinese language teaching. In order to collect more valuable data, this study includes a chapter analyzing the present gamified Chinese learning apps, as well as the results of a questionnaire on the subject, allowing us to have a better understanding of the importance of gamified electronic platforms to the future of Chinese language learning.
