The report is about the practice of translation for page 186 to page 230 of Bhutan-The Roar of the Thunder Dragon. The main idea of this part includes the great contribution made by the Kings and some extraordinary officials for the development of Bhutan. Based on the translation progress of this part, the author formed this report. Based on the translation of this part, the author introduces the translation procedure seriously. First of all, the author analyzes textual characteristics of the original version, get a general idea of the whole text. It tells the real condition of Bhutan. And the words are simple and there are a lot of attributive clauses,empathetic sentences and some long and difficult sentences. According to "functional equivalence" of Nida, this text is defined a typical "informative text". Secondly, the author introduces the translation procedure:preparatory stage,translation stage, and proofreading stage. Next, the author analyzes typical words and sentence cases in the text in detail. At last, the author concludes the problems met when translating and also her shortcomings. There are five parts in this report:program introduction, analysis and preparation before translating, translation methods used in translation and the conclusion of this translation. Through the translation of this text, the author wishes to put translation methods into practice; summarize the problems of translation and get an improvement in translation; besides the author wishes that others who translates this type of text will be helped according to this report.
