| Objective To investigate the effect and the mechanism of Wuzi Yanzong recipe and its disassembled formulae for treatment of diabetic erectile dysfunction.Methods One hundred and ten male Sprague-dwaley rats were used for the experiment.Ten of them were randomly selected for the nomal control group(NC).The other one hundred rats were injected with streptozotozin(STZ)for estabilishment of diabetes mellitus(DM)model,and then penis erectile experiment of apomorphine(APO)was used to select erectile dysfunction(ED)rats,which were divided into four groups: the model control group(MC),the nocturnal emission-stopping group(NES),kidney-tonifying group(KT)and the whole recipe group(WR).All rats were fed with the corresponding medicinal liquid: the disassembly 1 group(0.23g/kg)to the NES group,the disassembly II group(0.85g/kg)to the KT group,the Wuzi Yanzong recipe group(1.08g/kg)to the WR group and the distilled water to the NC and MC group.After drug treatment for thirty days,the blood sugar,intracavernosal pressure(ICP)/mean arterial pressure(MAP),reproductive hormone levels,testicular tissue,cauda epididymis sperm count,apoptosis of spermatogenic cell,total NOS,iNOS,cNOS and cGMP were investigated.Results Compared with the MC group,ICP in the NES,KT and WR group were significantly higher(p<0.01).In the NES,KT and WR group,the blood sugar was significantly lower(p<0.01);the level of T was significantly higher(p<0.01);the pathological changes of the testicular tissue was improved,the cauda epididymis sperm count was significantly higher(p<0.01);the AI was significantly lower(p<0.01);the activity of total NOS,iNOS,cNOS and the content of cGMP were significantly higher(p<0.05).Compared with the NES group,the blood sugar was lower(p<0.05)and ICP/MAP were higher(p<0.01)in the KT and WR group;the cauda epididymis sperm count and the level of T have no significant difference in KT group(p>0.05),but was significantly higher in WR group;the AI have no significant difference in KT group(p>0.05)but the activity of total NOS,iNOS,cNOS and the content of cGMP were significantly higher(p<0.05).Conclusions Wuzi Yanzong recipe and its disassembled formulae could obviously improve the diabetic rats with erectile dysfunction,which might be correlated with reducing the blood sugar and apoptosis of spermatogenic cell,improve the pathollgical changes of the testicular tissue,increasing the level of T and the activity of total NOS,iNOS,cNOS and the content of cGMP,which influence the NO-cGMP pathway. |
