Objective: To explore the diagnostic values of serum biomarkers for gastric cancer in Qinghai area by detecting the levels of serum pepsinogen(PG),helicobacter pylori virulence type(Hp)and gastric secrete element-17(G17)in patients with the Non-atrophic gastritis(NAG),chronic atrophic gastritis(the CAG)or gastric cancer(EC).Methods: 180 patients were choosed in Qinghai Provincial People's Hospital from November 2015 to May 2017,all of whom were checked by gastroscopy and histopathological examination.60 cases were in the NAG group.90 cases were in the CAG groups, and 30 cases were in the GC group. The levels of serum pepsinogen I(PG I),pepsinogen II(PG II)and gastrin-17(G-17)were measured by ELISA,and PG I/PG II was treated as PG ratio(PGR).The Helicobacter pylori levels were detected by Western blot. The diagonostic value of these biomarkers were evaluated by receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve. Results: 1.The positive rate of Hp in AG group and GC group were higher than that of NAG group(P<0.05),while there was no significant difference between AG group and GC group(P>0.05).2.Compared to NAG group, the PG I levels significantly decreased in the AG group and GC group(P<0.05),while there was no significant difference between AG group and GC group(P>0.05).3.The PG II levels in NAG group and AG group were higher than that in GC group(P<0.05),while there was no significant difference between NAG group and AG group(P>0.05).4.The PGR level in NAG group was lower than that in AG group and GC group, and that in AG group was lower than that in GC group,too.(P<0.05).5.The G-17 levels in AG group and GC group were higher than that in NAG group, and that in AG group was much higher than that in GC group(P<0.05).6.The areas under the curve of PG I,PGR and G-17 for gastric cancer were 0.88,0.78 and 0.73,respectively.They all had fine speccificity and bad sensitivety when they used for the diagnostic of GC respectively. But the speccificity and sensitivety were better when they combined to detect GC.Conclusion: The PG I and PGR levels significantly decreased and G-17 level elevated with the grade of gastric mucosa gradually increase. The HP were closely related to the development of GC.There were fine speccificity and sensitivety of PGI,PGR and G-17 for the diagnosis of gastric cancer in Qinghai. The combined detection of Serum PG,Hp and G-17 could be a new marker for GC in Qinghai.
