Part One: Comparison of mono and bi algorithm based IVIM imaging in normal breast glandObjective We aimed to investigate the parameters from mono and bi based IVIM-deprived algorithm at normal mammary gland and the stability of the two fitting methods were compared to provided more information to select the better algorithm.Materials And Methods A total of 84 ROI IVIM-MR parameters were taken from 42 female include 33 premenopausal and 9 postmenopausal,for each case,1ROI were selected from bilateral glands.SPSS 22.0 statistical software was used to compare the parameters generated for 2 techniques by Mann-Whitney U test and the coefficient of variation(CV)for each parameters were also calculated.Results There were significant differences for D and D*value between mono and bi algorithm for two groups;No significant differences for f value was exist.The CVs measured by mono fitting method is less than bi in both premenopausal and postmenopausal.Conclusions With the parameter setting in this study,the f value derived from mono and bi algorithms has good consistency,however,the D and D* values do not,The stability of IVIM measured by mono fitting method is better than bi,indicate mono fitting method may be more suitable for breast IVIM study.Part Two: Research the value of mono and bi fitting algorithm based on IVIM for breast lesionsObjective We aimed to investigate the parameters from mono and bi based IVIM-deprived algorithm at breast lesion,and the diagnostic in the differential benign and malignant breast lesions.Materials And Methods A total of 58 breast lesions IVIM-MR parameters were taken from 54 female,consist of 27 benign and 31 malignant lesions,the parameters including D,D* and f were generated and measured by two fitting methods from IVIM post processing software.SPSS 22.0 statistical software was used to compare the coefficient of variation of the parameters measured by two fitting methods,investigate the differences between mono and bi based IVIM fitting methods.The diagnostic performance in the differential benign and malignant breast lesions was also compared between mono and bi fitting methods.Results The coefficient of variation of IVIM parameters by mono fitting method was less than bi from breast lesions,and there was significant differences for D and D* value between mono and bi in breast lesions,the f value was not.The values of IVIM parameters D and D* were statistically difference by mono fitting method in benign and malignant breast lesions,and the D values on bi fitting method was also do.The area under curve for D value measured by mono fitting method was larger than the bi in the differential benign and malignant breast lesions.Conclusions Compared with the bi fitting method,mono fitting method is more valuable for the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant breast lesions,and is more suitable for IVIM parameter measurement of breast lesions.
