Aim: To systemically evaluate the efficacy and safety of chemotherapy combined with cellular immunotherapy for treatment of gastric cancer(GC)after an operation. Methods: The search terms were "cell Immunotherapy",“dendritic cells”,“Cytokine-Induced Killer Cells”,"Killer Cells","Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell" "tumor infiltrating lymphocyte" or “DC-CIK” combined with “gastric cancer”.The trials analyzed in this study were identified by an electronic search of the Cochrane Library,PubMed,and Embase. The search was limited to articles published between January 2000 and August 2017.The Hazard Ratio(HR),overall survival(OS)rates, progression free survival(PFS)rates were analyzed by a Mantel-Haenszel(M-H)fixedeffects model(FEM),and the results were displayed using forest plots.Publication bias was assessed by Begg's tests, and data were presented with funnel plot. The robustness of our results was assessed by trim and fill method.Descriptive analysis was performed on T lymphocytes and adverse effects. Results: Compared with the control group, the HR for overall survival was 0.712(95% CI: 0.594-0.854)and 0.66(95% CI: 0.546-0.797)for overall PFS.The Risk Ratio(RR)of 3-and 5-year OS rate was 1.319(95% CI: 1.169-1.448)and 1.726(95% CI: 1.363-2.185).The RR for 3-and 5-year PFS rate with corresponding RRs of 1.403(95% CI: 1.191-1.654)and 2.097(95% CI: 1.532-2.871).The percentages of CD3+,CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ in cellular therapy groups were increased. There was no fatal adverse reaction. Conclusion: Chemotherapy combined with cellular immunotherapy after an operation resulted in low HR and significantly better OS rates,PFS rates and Tlymphocyte responses in patients with GC.
