Objective: The antegrade and retrograde anatomy of the facial nerves were performed in unilateral parotid benign lesions. The facial nerve function was evaluated using the facial nerve electromyogram(ENoG)and the House-Brackmann(HB)scale after surgery. Two types of facial nerve anatomy were explored. The advantages and disadvantages were compared between the three types of operation time, the incidence of temporary facial paralysis, and the time of recovery of facial nerve function after surgery. The facial nerve electromyography(ENoG)was introduced to evaluate the postoperative facial nerve function evaluation system.Correlations with subjective facial nerve evaluation methods were evaluated to evaluate its application prospects in evaluating the prognosis of facial nerve injury. Methods: 36 patients with unilateral benign lesions of the parotid treated at the Department of Stomatology,First Hospital of Lanzhou University from April 2016 to May 2017 were selected to perform antegrade or retrograde anatomy in the parotid mass resection by the same surgeon.Facial nerve.Postoperative operative time, facial paralysis, and facial nerve recovery time;EnoG combined with HB scale at the same time point(postoperative day 7)to evaluate the degree of facial nerve injury in two anatomic surgical groups;and to study two methods of evaluation of facial nerve function. The correlation between.Result: 1.In the surgery of benign parotid glands, the incidence of facial paralysis and facial nerve recovery time were less in the anterograde group than in the retrograde group;2.There was a mid-high correlation between subjective H-B scale evaluation and objective ENOG parameters.Conclusion:1.In the surgery of benign parotid glands,in the case that the main trunk of the facial nerve is not disturbed,it is recommended to use the antegrade method to dissect the facial nerve;2.It is recommended that the ENOG examination be introduced into the facial nerve function evaluation system as an objective measure of facial nerve function damage evaluation.
