Objective:To investigate the clinicopathologic feature of patients with obesity and postoperative colorectal cancer radical operation and prognosis relationship. Methods: 150 patients who received colorectal cancer radical operation from Jan.to Dec.2008 in Lanzhou University were included to be divided into three groups including normal group, overweight group and obesity group,so as to compare the clinical and pathological feature of the three groups, then to retrospectively analyze the relationship between BMI and DFS and OS.Results:BMI was associated with age, diabetes, tumor site and differentiated degree. The analysis of DFS single factor survival showed that the prognostic factors related to DFS after colorectal cancer radical operation contained age, diabetes, differentiated degree,pN staging, postoperative chemoradiotherapy and BMI.The disease free survival rate for normal group, overweight group and obesity group was 64.9%,47.2 and 44.6% respectively. And the analysis of DFS multiple factor survival showed that the independent prognostic influence factors related to DFS after colorectal cancer radical operation contained diabetes, differentiated degree,p N staging and postoperative chemoradiotherapy. The analysis of OS single factor survival showed that the prognostic factors related to OS after colorectal cancer radical operation contained age, diabetes, preoperative CEA positive, differentiated degree,pN staging, postoperative chemoradiotherapy and BMI.The overall survival rate for normal group, overweight group and obesity group was84.2%,79.8% and 51.8% respectively. And the analysis of OS multiple factor survival showed that the independent prognostic influence factors related to OS after colorectal cancer radical operation contained age, preoperative CEA positive, differentiated degree,pN staging, postoperative chemoradiotherapy and BMI.Conclusions: the independent prognostic influence factors related to DFS after colorectal cancer radical operation contained diabetes, differentiated degree,pN staging and postoperative chemoradiotherapy.the independent prognostic influence factors related to OS after colorectal cancer radical operation contained age, preoperative CEA positive, differentiated degree,pN staging, postoperative chemoradiotherapy and BMI.
