Objective To compare the effect of peri-articular multimodal drug injections with nerve block in total knee arthroplasty(TKA)under the background of multimodal analgesia. Methods We prospectively analyzed 58 patients' clinical data who accepted TKA from June 1,2016 to October 31,2016 in our hospital. These patients were assigned to two groups.Cocktail injection group: 29 patients received 100 ml multimode drug(composed of Ropivacaine,Epinephrine,Morphine and Saline)injected into peri-articular soft tissue during the surgery.Nerve block group: other patients accepted nerve block combined femoral and sciatic nerve before the surgery. We compared Visual Analogue Score(VAS)at rest and during activity,Range of motion(ROM),Volume of drainage,Postoperative hospitalization duration and Complication after surgery.Result The VAS score at rest of the 3rd day after surgery was significant higher in the nerve block group. And the VAS score during activity at 1st?2nd and 3rd day after surgery was also significant higher in the nerve block group. The differences of the ROM,volume of drainage, complication and postoperative hospitalization duration between the two groups was not significant. Conclusion The effect of analgesia in the Cocktail injection group for motility pain relief is superior to Nerve block group.
