Objective: To investigate the drug-resistance and aminoglycoside-modifying enzyme genes of Acinetobacter baumannii in ürümqi,Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region,China.Methods: A retrospective analysis of 734 drug-resistant A.baumannii strains was performed.Between December 2016 and August 2017,35 strains of aminoglycosideresistant A.baumannii were collected from the clinical specimens of patients at the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Affiliated to Xinjiang Medical University,ürümqi,Xinjiang,China using polymerase chain reaction and sequencing analysis.The following aminoglycoside-modifying enzyme genes of A.baumannii were analyzed: aac(3)-I,aac(3)-?,aac(6?)-I b,and ant(3?)-I a.Results: In 2016,734 strains of A.baumannii showed high drug resistance to most antibiotics,including amikacin,imipenem and cefoperazonesulbactam(70%,73.7%,and 65.6%,respectively),as well as minocycline and tigecycline(4.8% and 3.7%,respectively).The detection rates of aac(3)-?,aac(6?)-I b and ant(3?)-I a in 35 strains of aminoglycoside-resistant A.baumannii were all 100%;the aac(3)-I gene was detected in 26 strains,with a detection rate of 74.3%.Conclusion: The presence of aminoglycoside-resistant A.baumannii in ürümqi may be due to production of the aminoglycoside-modifying enzyme genes,aac(3)-I,aac(3)-?,aac(6?)-I b,and ant(3?)-I a...
