Purpose:To detect the expression of Glut-1 and HK-? in head and neck cancer and analyze the relationship between them and the pathological factors of head and neck cancer,to explore the relationship between them and the occurrence, development and prognosis of head and neck cancer.Methods:36 cases of head and neck cancer patients are chosen from our Hospital form September 2010 to November 2016,there were 34 males and 2 females, aged 43-81 years old, mean age 64.6±9.6 years, none had received preoperative radiotherapy, including 12 cases of laryngeal carcinoma,19 cases of carcinoma of the hypopharynx,l cases of oropharyngeal cancer,3 cases of tongue cancer,1 cases of gingival carcinoma. The specimens were all cancer tissue. The pathology proved to be squamous cell carcinoma.19 cases of benign lesions were taken as control group, including 14 cases of vocal polyps,3 cases of vocal papilloma and 2 cases of vocal cords leukoplakia. The expression of Glut-1 and HK-II was detected by immunohistochemical method. The survival status of all patients was followed up.The relationship between them and clinicopathological characteristics was retrospectively analyzed.P<0.05 has statistical significance.Results:1.The expression of Glut-1 and HK-? was significantly different between the head and neck cancer group and the control group(P<0.001).2.The expression of Glut-1 was correlated with the primary tumor location(P<0.05),which was not significantly correlated with age, smoking or not, drinking or not,TNM stage, clinical stage, differentiation degree, size of tumor, lymph node metastasis and vascular invasion(P>0.05).3.The expression of HK-? was correlated with smoking and primary tumor location(P<0.05).There was no significant correlation between the expression of HK-? and the age of patients, drinking or not,TNM stage, clinical stage, differentiation degree, size of tumor, lymph node metastasis and vascular invasion(P>0.05).4.There was no significant correlation between the expression of Glut-1 and HK-?(P=0.817).5.In the single factor survival analysis, postoperative radiotherapy was statistically significant for the prognosis of patients with head and neck cancer.(P =0.012).6.In the multivariate analysis, postoperative radiotherapy or chemotherapy and lymphnode metastasis was statistically significant for the prognosis of patients with head and neck cancer, and was probable independent factors that affect the prognosis of patients(P<0.05).Conclusion:The expression of Glut-1 and HK-? is significantly increased in the head and neck cancer, and is related to the primary tumor location.
