Objective To investigate and analyze clinical features, epidemiological distribution, surgical treatment and short-term prognosis for patients with central nervous system neoplasm who got operative treatment in nearly 10 years in Jiangsu People's Hospital and got the histological pathology and propose the prevention strategy. Methods During 10 years from January 2007 to February 2017,4553 patients with central nervous system neoplasm who were treated in Jiangsu People's Hospital and got histological pathological diagnosis were selected.Based on the new standard classification parting of WHO-2016,their clinical epidemiological characters were recorded: including admitted cases year after year, morbidity, regional distribution of disease entities, tumor constituent ratio, onset age, gender, and occupation. Moreover, environment in the source areas of disease entities, industrial structure, economic development, chemical pollution, people's sex ratio and medical conditions were conducted control study to analyze their correlation.Meanwhile, surgical treatment and short-term prognosis(half a year)of patients were analyzed. The prevention strategy of central nervous system neoplasm was proposed. Results The morbidity of central nervous system neoplasm was increasing year by year. The annual average growth rate was about 7.68%.According to the case of this group, patients gave priority to meningeoma(28.05%),sellar region tumor(25.98%),diffusive astrocyte and oligodendrocyte(18.52%),intraspinal neutral tumor(13.33%),mesenchyme and non-meningothelial epithelial tumor(6.35%).Low-level tumor and supratentorial tumor accounted for 86.43% and 71.47%.The male and female ratio was 1:1.32.The morbidity peak was 50-59 years old.The correlation index between morbidity and GDP in main source areas of central nervous system neoplasm(Nanjing,Huai'an and Suqian)was 0.7476,0.7904 and 0.8485,respectively.The correlation P was less than 0.05.The correlation index between morbidity and industrial value was0.7308,0.7700 and 0.8835,respectively.The correlation P was less than 0.05.P in the gender difference of men and women in five common tumors was less than 0.01.In statistics of surgical treatment and short-term prognosis(half a year)in five common tumors,in addition to diffusive astrocyte and oligodendrocyte, surgical cure rate of other four tumors(tumor excision)was about 40%.The improvement rate was above55%.The prognostic favorable rate after half a year of operation was 95%.Conclusion The morbidity of central nervous system neoplasm was increasing year by year.It has a highly linear positive correlation with regional GDP and industrial output value. It's clinical features are closely linked with the environment in patients' source areas, industrial structure, economic development, chemical pollution, population sex ratio, and medical conditions.WHO II-grade-tumor's recurrence rate is high, and it has a tendency to a higher level of tumor. In the future,to improve environment, perfect prevention system, create new surgical methods and formulate rehabilitation project by pathological results is the effective method by aiming at central nervous system neoplasm, while exploring the new therapy and reinforcing the medical efficiency.
