Objective: To explore the effect of electroacupuncture on the PTED postoperative recovery of patients with lumbar intervertebral disc herniation.Method: Using randomized controlled method in the study,20 selected LDH cases were randomly divided into control combination electroacupuncture group.Electroacupuncture treatment was given to patients in the electroacupuncture group 1/d for 10 days,2 days after the surgery is done. Then record and compare the VAS score,JOA low back pain score, the LSUHSC sensory nerve function recovery and MRC strength grade before surgry, and 1 d,3 d,5d,14 d,3 months after surgery. And to evaluate the clinical curative effect on the basis of Macnab curative effect evaluation 3 months after surgery. Results: 1.VAS pain score comparison: using repetitive measure analysis of variance, the trend of changes in the two groups in the different treatment time showed significant difference. The pain in the electro-acupuncture group was relieved much more quickly during 3d to 7d after surgery than that of control group. In comparison, there were significant differences in VAS scores between 5d and 7d after surgery(P<0.05).2.JOA score comparison: using repetitive measure analysis of variance, the trend of changes in the two groups in the different treatment time showed significant difference(P < 0.05).The pain in the electoacupuncture group was relieved much more quickly during 5d to 14 d after surgery than that of control group. In comparison, there were significant differences in VAS scores between5d?7d and 14 d after surgery(P<0.05).3.LSUHSC sensory nerve functional recovery evaluation comparison: the neurologic recovery level of two groups of patients increases with times after surgery. There were significant differences in LSUHSC levels between 3d and 5d after surgery(P<0.05).4.MRC strength grading evaluation comparison: the MRC strength level of two groups of patients increases with times after surgery. There were significant differences in LSUHSC levels between 7d and 14 d after surgery(P<0.05).5.Comparison of efficacy evaluation of Macnab in the two groups after surgery: there was no significant difference between the two groups. There were 17 and 15 people in the electroacupuncture group estimated as excellent and good in the Macnab;and 15 and 5 respectively in the control group. The efficacy of electroacupuncture group was better than that of the control group, but there was no statistically significant difference. Conclusions: Electroacupuncture can effectively relieve postoperative pain and promote the lower lumbar function, with the most significant effect in the early postoperative period(2 weeks). It can significantly promote the recovery of sensory nerve function and muscle strength in the early postoperative period(2 weeks). It is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
