Comprehensive Research On The Name Of Traditional Chinese Medicine Disease Diarrhea

Diarrhea is a disease of which the main symptoms are increased frequency of defecation,loose stool or incomplete digestion,and even water-like excretion.In ancient times,symptoms that are loose stools and drain slow are called leaks,and loose stools like water and drain fast are called pour,both of which are now commonly referred to as diarrhea in clinical.In modern medicine,there is no name for diarrhea,but it is recognized as a symptom of a certain disease which includes malabsorption syndrome,gastrointestinal infections,colorectal polyps,intestinal tuberculosis,ulcerative colitis,Crohn's disease,pseudomembranous colitis,ischemic enteritis and irritable bowel syndrome.Diarrhea is a common and frequently-occurring disease in the clinic,whose naming characteristics have also changed with the changes of the times.The understanding of the name of diarrhea disease by ancient doctors can be roughly divided into four periods.During the pre-Qin and Han dynasties,it was mostly named after the adjective plus leak or the organs that causes diarrhea,such as soggy diarrhea,swill diarrhea and excessive yin causing interior cold diarrhea etc.During the Sui and Tang dynasties,it was often named after the differences in the diarrhea,such as red and white dysentery,purulent dysentery syndrome,Qingxia and Baixia,etc.During the Song and Jin dynasties,it was mostly named after the”Sanyin" and established the exclusive name of "diarrhea".During the Ming and Qing dynasties,the name of the diarrhea disease was unified and the related identification with dysentery was improved.Contemporary medicine mainly focuses on the modern Chinese medicine internal medicine and uses urine and tenesmus to determine if there is pus and blood to discriminate whether various intestinal diseases are diarrhea or dysentery.The emergence of different names of disease in the past dynasties,on one hand,can embody the distinct characteristics of the times,which marks the deepening understanding of traditional Chinese medicine on diarrhea,reflecting the pathogenesis of diarrhea from the side.It also provides minds for descendant doctors to study diarrhea and experience for clinic treatment for diarrhea.On the other hand,due to the different appellation and connotation given by doctors in various times,complicated disease name is to the disadvantage of the communication and research of diarrhea.Meanwhile,due to age,the connotation of the name of the disease diarrhea has changed in the process of historical evolution.Therefore,the connotation and the origin of change of the name of diarrhea and related diseases need to be teased out and summarized urgently.The content of this thesis can mainly be divided into three sections.Introduction:this paper mainly introduces and analyzes the current status of the research on the name of diarrhea.This thesis summarizes the meaning of diarrhea from two different perspectives of critical interpretation of ancient texts and doctors' evaluation statements.It presents the significance and value of studying the name of diarrhea.First section:this section teases out the historical development,observing the evolution and development of the name of diarrhea in terms of the whole.The main method to tease out the evolution process of the name of diarrhea disease is history dividing.Based on the understanding of the articles in ancient books,this paper briefly discusses and analyzes the naming characteristics of this disease during the periods of from pre-Qin to Han,Sui and Tang dynasties,Song and Jin dynasties and Ming and Qing dynasties.Second section:this section discusses the levels of the name of diarrhea.This section is the focus of this thesis,which mainly divides the collected 59 disease names into primary and secondary levels.Among them,the characteristics of diarrhea(according to the diarrhea viscera,disease characteristics,etiology and pathogenesis,special population or special period)as secondary disease names are further subdivided and discussed in terms of their historical evolution and connotation.Third section:this is the conclusion and discussion of this article.It is a systematic summary and in-depth discussion from three different perspectives:studying basic concept and the disease name of diarrhea,how the world currently knows the name of diarrhea,and how the clinic distinguishes and treats diarrhea.This paper deals with the relevant contents of diarrhoea diseases in ancient literature,studying basic concept and the disease name of diarrhea.From a macro perspective,this paper combs the name of diarrhea comprehensively for the first time.It has certain theoretical significance of clarifying the definition,connotation and scope of diarrhea and related diseases,providing a reference for the standardization of the name of diarrhea.It has certain practical significance because the study of the name of the disease is not limited to the name of the disease itself.Instead,it starts with the study of the name of the disease,analyzes its connotation,and seeks to guide the thinking of clinical differentiation and treatment of diarrhea,in order to provide references for the treatment of some related diseases with diarrhea as the main manifestation in clinical practice from a global perspective.
