Objective:To investigate the curative efficacy of adjuvant therapy of atorvastatin in chronic subdural haematoma patients treated with trepanation and drainage. Methods: 115 patients of CSDH who received therapy in The Second People's Hospital Of NeiJiang from October 2014 to September 2017 were selected as research objects.Retrospectively analyzing their clinic materials, those patients were divided into the control group(n = 58)and the research group(n = 57)according to therapeutic schemes. The control group was given therapy of trepanation and drainage.Besides that, the research group was given atorvastatin additionally.Next,we compared the general data, operative index, clinical efficacy,MGS classification, hematoma volume, serum NSE level, complications and recurrence between the two groups. Results: The two groups of patients were followed by normal distribution in age. There was no statistically significant difference in gender, trauma history, liver dysfunction, hematoma location, hematoma density and hematoma volume between the two groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the operation time and the amount of bleeding between the two groups(P>0.05).Comparison of the efficacy of the two groups, the research group total effective rate was 96.5%,another rate was 79.3%,the total effective rate of research group was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05).The number of well-healed in the research group(30 patients healed)was significantly more than in control group(20 patients healed)(P<0.05).The patients in the research group were significantly shorter in the time of hospitalization and the time of disappearance of symptoms than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the ADL score of the research group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The two group were similar in the MGS0 and MGS1 grading(P>0.05),but the MGS4,MGS8 and MGS12 grades in the research group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the volume of hematoma between the two groups before the treatment, the day of treatment and after one week of treatment(P>0.05).But after treatment four weeks, eight weeks and twelve weeks, the hematoma volume in the research group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in serum NSE content between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05),but after treatment for one week, four weeks, eight weeks and twelve weeks, the serum NSE level was obviously lesser in the research group than that in the control group(P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in the study group was 5.26%,and the total incidence of complications in the control group was 25.86%.The total incidence of complications in the research group was obviously lesser than that in the control group(P<0.05).There was no patient relapsed after treatment in the research group. There was 10 patients relapsed after treatment in the control group, and the recurrence rate was 17.24%.The relapse rate in the research group was obviously lesser than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion: Trepanation and drainage combined with atorvastatin can effectively improve the clinical curative effect of chronic subdural hematoma, effectively reduce the volume of hematoma, improve the neurological function and the quality of life, reduce the complications and recurrence rate of chronic subdural hematoma after operation.
