Objective:To systematically analyze and evaluate the effect of traditional Chinese medicine on the intervention of type 2 diabetes.Research methods:?Search methods:We use the "type 2 diabetes" and "Chinese medicine","randomized controlled trial",as the main words, searching in Wanfang,CNKI,VIP,China biomedical database,Pubmed,Cochranelibrary, since self published up to June 2017 literature retrieval.?The screening criteria:For diagnosed 'T2DM patients, using single herbs,Chinese herbal compound,RCT research of traditional Chinese medicine granules, extract of traditional Chinese medicine intervention, treatment over 12 weeks.?Data collection:Designing form, two researchers independently evaluated the quality of trials, extracted some basic information and related outcome indicators, such as glycosylated hemoglobin A1C,blood sugar, liver and kidney functions, the rate of hypoglycemia and so on.?Literature quality evaluation tool:Using the improved Jadad scale and the publication bias assessment of Cochrane system.?Data processing:The Cochrane collaboration‘s RevMan5.3 software.According to the inclusion properties and unit index, using inverse variance in continuous variables(IV)method, fixed effect model(FE)and standardized mean difference(SMD),statistical analysis of relevant outcomes. The main results:?A total of 134136 articles were retrieved in this study, which conformed to the inclused criteria and the interventions, about 186 articles are considered.Using the improved Jadad scale score, ultimately conforming the Jadad score more than 4 points was 12 papers,a total of 938 cases of patients with type 2 diabetes.?RevMan5.3 software was used to analyze the collected data. The results showed that the traditional Chinese medicine combined with western medicine treatment was better than the placebo combined with western medicine in reducing the glycosylated hemoglobin(HbAlc)in patients with type 2 diabetes, and the results were stable[SMD-0.43,95%CI(-0.56,-0.29),P<0.00001].The traditional Chinese medicine combined with western medicine treatment was better than the placebo combined with western medicine in reducing the fasting plasma glucose(FPG)in patients with type 2 diabetes, and the results were stable[SMD-0.39,95%CI(-0.53,-0.25),P<0.00001].The traditional Chinese medicine combined with western medicine treatment was better than the placebo combined with western medicine in reducing the 2 hours postprandial plasma glucose(2hPG)in patients with type 2 diabetes, and the results were stable[SMD-0.35,95%CI(-0.55,-0.15),P=0.0007].?The safety assessment found that the main adverse reaction of Chinese medicine was gastrointestinal discomfort. Conclusion:The traditional Chinese medicine, which we have involved in the study, helps to reduce glycated hemoglobin, fasting blood glucose, and 2 hours postprandial plasma glucose inpatients with type 2 diabetes.
