ObjectiveSiruins(SIRT1-7)are important members of the histone deacetylase, which regulates cell proliferation, differentiation and metabolism through acetylation modification. At present, the correlation and pathogenesis of SIRTs on rheumatoid arthritis is not clear.Relative research reports are relatively few. This study aimed to understand the role of SIRTs in patients with RA.MethodsPeripheral blood and biochemical data were collected from 40 healthy individuals and RA patients. The expression of SIRTs mRNA in peripheral blood mononuclear cells was investigated by real-time PCR.The expression level of sirtuins protein in peripheral blood was investigated by ELISA.Correlation analysis was made with inflammatory indexes such as ESR,CRP,DAS28,RF and CCP.ResultsThe levels of SIRTs mRNA and enzyme activity in group RA were lower than those in healthy control group(P<0.05).There was a negative correlation between the sirtuins activity level and ESR,CRP,DAS28,RF,CCP.(P<0.05).ConclusionThe expression of SIRTs and the activity of enzyme were decreased in RA.SIRTs may be involved in the pathogenesis and development of RA.
