Objective:To detect the expression circumstances of ROR1(receptor-tyrosine-kinase-like orphan receptor 1)in thyroid papillary carcinoma,nodular goiter and thyroid adenoma,to analyze whether ROR1 is associated with the pathogenesis of papillary thyroid carcinoma.To analyze the correlation between the expression of ROR1 and the clinical data of patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma,lymph node metastasis,TNM staging and other case data.Analysis of patients' clinical indicators(such as gender,age,preoperative thyroid ultrasound,preoperative thyroid function,thyroid autoimmune antibodies,blood lipids,etc.)in thyroid papillary carcinoma,nodular goiter,thyroid adenoma to see if they have statistical difference or not.Methods:Collecting conserved tissue wax blocks from total or subtotal thyroid surgery in The First People's Hospital of tonglu country,Zhejiang Province from January 2010 to December 2016.Among which have 79 cases of thyroid papillary carcinoma,24 cases of nodular goiter and 17 cases of thyroid adenoma.All specimens were diagnosed by the associate chief physician of the pathology department with more than 10 years working experience.Meanwhile,collecting clinical data of all patients,such as gender,age,multiple tumor or not,tumor size,capsular invasion or not,thyroid autoimmune antibody,lymph node and distant metastasis,TNM staging,etc.Immunohistochemistry methods were used to detect the expression circumstances of ROR1 protein,and made correlation analysis with related clinical data.Inter-group differences were compared by chi-square test or Fisher exact probability,P<0.05 indicates has statistical significance.Statistical analysis software used was SPSS 19.0.Results:(1)The total positive or strong positive expression rate of ROR1 in 79 cases of thyroid papillary carcinoma was 91.1%,while the positive or strong positive rate ofROR1 in thyroid papillary carcinoma was 58.5%,inter-group comparison P<0.001,there was statistical difference.(2)The positive and strong positive expression of ROR1 in papillary thyroid carcinoma was related to capsular invasion,and had no correlation with gender,age,tumor size,recurrence,lymph node metastasis,TNM staging and thyroglobulin antibody.In cases of papillary carcinoma with capsular invasion,the positive and strong positive rates were 94.1%and the positive and strongly positive rates were 90.3%in non-capsular invasion papillary carcinoma cases,have statistically difference(P = 0.047).(3)Papillary thyroid carcinoma and nodular goiter have statistically difference in age,size of the tumor,B-ultrasound with or without calcified plaque,B-ultrasound shows that the border is clear or not,B-ultrasound shows no blood flow signal and thyroglobulin antibody.The results showed that patients with thyroid papillary carcinoma are younger,with smaller tumor,B-ultrasound showed more calcified plaque and with unclear border and contained high thyroglobulin antibody.There were no statistically difference in gender,multiple tumor or not,B-ultrasound showed blood flow signal or not,preoperative thyroid function,blood lipids and so on.(4)Papillary thyroid carcinoma and thyroid adenoma have statistically differences in tumor size and thyroglobulin antibody.The results showed that thyroid papillary carcinoma were smaller and thyroglobulin higher.There was no statistically difference in sex,age,multiple tumor or not,B-ultrasound with or without calcified plaque,B-ultrasound shows that the border is clear or not,the tumor had blood flow signal or not,preoperative thyroid function,blood lipids and so on.Conclusions:(1)The positive and strong positive expression rate of ROR1 in thyroid papillary carcinoma was significantly higher than in nodular goiter and thyroid adenoma,suggesting that ROR1 may be used as a molecular marker of papillary thyroid carcinoma.(2)The positive rate of ROR1 is higher in patients with capsular invasion papillary thyroid carcinoma,which may be related to the invasiveness of thyroid papillary carcinoma,which also may be related to the progress and prognosis of the disease.(3)Compared with nodular goiter,papillary thyroid carcinoma showed a higher proportion of patients younger than 45 years old and 82.2%of patients with mass less than 2 cm in diameter.The ratio of tumor diameter<2 cm in patients with nodular goiter was 16.6%,have statistical difference.It shows that thyroid papillary carcinoma are more incident in young patients,with smaller tumor diameter,B-ultrasound shows more tumor with calcification and unclear border,with higher thyroglobulin.(4)Papillary thyroid carcinoma compared with thyroid adenoma,the tumor is smaller and hiyher thyroglobulin.
