Objective:By studying the effect of modified Wumei pill prescription on prevention of recurrence of early colorectal cancer after operation and improvement of clinical symptoms of the patient,it is provided theoretical basis for the clinical application of modified Wumei pill prescription in the prevention of postoperative recurrence of early colorectal cancer. Methods:Among 120 patients hospitalized in the Department of Digestive Endoscopy Center Ward of Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,120 patients with early colorectal cancer undergoing concurrent endoscopic treatment were included and divided into the following four groups:(1)Liver-Kidney yin deficiency group by syndrome differentiation,(2)Qi deficiency and blood stasis group,(3)liver depression and spleen deficiency group,(4)heat and phlegm poisoning group,30 cases in each group, each group was further divided into treatment group and control group in 15 cases each, and treatment group was given modified Wumei pill prescription in the postoperative half month. And the control group was not treated with any traditional Chinese medicine or other treatments. The total duration of treatment was 6 months. After 6 months, the colonoscopy was reviewed to observe the recurrence and improvement of clinical symptoms. And statistical methods were used to evaluate the scores of illnesses before and after treatment and the recurrence rate.Reuslts:The statistical results after 6 months showed that 15 patients in the control group had recurrence with a recurrence rate of 25.42%;7 patients in the treatment group had recurrence with a recurrence rate of 11.67%.After nonparametric tests, the recurrence rate of the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The treatment group had the lowest recurrence rate of liver depression and spleen deficiency syndrome, which was 1.67%.Preoperative abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, blood in the stool, fatigue, and poor appetite in the two groups were statistically verified and comparable(P>0.05).After 6 months of oral administration of traditional Chinese medicines, the scores of the illnesses of the two groups of patients were statistically examined again. The scores of various illnesses(except diarrhea)were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Modified Wumei pill prescription can prevent the recurrence of early colorectal cancer undergoing concurrent endoscopic treatment and reduce its postoperative recurrence rate, especially the recurrence rate of patients with liver depression and spleen deficiency.2.Modified Wumei pill prescription can improve the clinical symptoms of patients with early colorectal cancer undergoing concurrent endoscopic treatment and improve the quality of life.
