Electricity and energy are the basis of industrial production and are the driving force for national development. In recent years,China has successively built a number of high voltage and UHV substations, bringing about economic benefits as well as generating some social problems. The increase of the voltage grade makes the electromagnetic environment in the substation further complicated, which not only affects the wireless devices in the station, but also may endanger the health of the staff in the station. In this paper, based on the complex electromagnetic environment in the substation, the performance of short-range wireless communication in the station is simulated. In addition, also explored the electromagnetic radiation on the human brain impact. The thesis first introduces the composition of the electromagnetic environment in the substation, expounds the technical characteristics of short-range wireless communication in the substation and the possible impact of electromagnetic radiation on the human body.In the research of performance of short-range wireless communication,The composition of common wireless channels and their applicable scenarios are discussed. In the simulation, the simulation model of the path loss combined with the Rayleigh fading channel was established by introducing the path loss model which is in line with the electromagnetic environment in the substation. The simulation model was compared with the path loss and the Gaussian channel simulation model. At the same time,we verified the system performance under different background noise. We also obtained the distribution of reliable communication range with the error rate less than 10-5 as the standard, which provided a reliable coverage for the system assessment method. In addition,it evaluates the reliable transmission range of the system when there is strong transient interference caused by switching operation, which provides theoretical guidance for practical production. In the part of studying the influence of electromagnetic radiation on human brain SAR,this paper introduces the relevant content of bioelectromagnetics, and introduces the concept of SAR.By means of simulation, the data parameters of the electromagnetic pulse signal generated by the switching operation in the substation are obtained.CST will be used to study the effect of the switch on the human brain as a result of the strong transient pulses generated by the switch. In the simulation, combined with the actual situation that may occur, designed four different simulation scenarios.By analyzing the simulation results of human brain SAR in these four cases, the protective measures to be observed in each scenario are obtained, which provides a reference for the substation staff to guard against such radiation.
