Objectives:To summarize and analyze the factors related to the failure of internal fixation of spinal tuberculosis in children. Methods:Retrospective analysis the 147 cases of surgical treatment of spinal tuberculosis in children with clinical data from June 2000 to December 2015.Compared the clinical data of children with internal fixation rupture, dissection and loosening of spinal tuberculosis with other children in the same period.Compare of the two groups of children with gender, age, preoperative combined kyphosis, preoperative and postoperative formal chemotherapy, surgical methods, surgical techniques, fixed site, lesion range, brace protection in March, postoperative kyphosis As well as spine tuberculosis after spinal tuberculosis delayed or relapse of the correlation.Analysis of factors that may lead to postoperative internal fixation failure in children with spinal tuberculosis. Results:Of the 147 patients who underwent surgical treatment of pediatric tuberculosis,22 of them had postoperative internal fixation failure. The single factor chi square test analysis showed that preoperative and postoperative regular chemotherapy, surgical technique, fixed position, orthosis protection for 3 months, before and after surgery combined with postoperative kyphosis,Postoperative spinal tuberculosis recurrence or delayed healing with internal fixation failure correlation(P<0.05).There was no correlation with gender, age, surgical procedure, and range of lesions(P>0.05);Non conditional logistic regression analysis showed that preoperative kyphosis, orthosis protection for 3 months, application of surgical technique,Postoperative spinal tuberculosis recurrence or delayed healing,There was correlation between the 4 factors and the failure of internal fixation for pediatric spinal tuberculosis(P<0.05).Conclusion:The reasons for the failure of internal fixation for pediatric spinal tuberculosis are complex, which is the result of a variety of reasons.Preoperative combined with kyphosis deformity, internal fixation position is poor in application of surgical technique, orthosis protection is insufficient for 3 months or not protected, are risk factors for the failure of internal fixation for spinal tuberculosis in pediatric.
