| Objective: To evaluate the clinical effect of Huangqi Jianzhong Decoction in the prevention and treatment of adverse reaction caused by chemotherapy and to provide objective clinical basis for Chinese medicine in the prevention and treatment of adverse reaction caused by chemotherapy.Methods:60 patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups(treatment group and control group).In the treatment group,we use Huangqi Jianzhong Decoction combined with chemotherapy,while in the control group,we use chemotherapy only.After a course of treatment,the two groups were observed in the Karnofsky Performance Score,the QOL score and the hemocyte(leukocyte,thrombocyte)count before and after the chemotherapy,the incidence rate and degree of gastrointestinal reactions and myelosuppression after chemotherapy.Results:(1)Gastrointestinal reactions:after chemotherapy,the incidence rates of nausea and vomiting in the treatment group are lower than the control group and the degrees are lighter,there is statistically significant difference between the two groups(P <0.05).It suggests that Huangqi Jianzhong Decoction can reduce the incidence and lighten the degree of the gastrointestinal reactions caused by chemotherapy.(2)Myelosuppression;before chemotherapy,the leukocyte count and the thrombocyte count between the two groups have no significant difference(P>0.05);after chemotherapy,the leukocyte count and the thrombocyte count in the treatment group are higher the than the control group,the incidence rates of leukopenia and thrombopenia in the treatment group are lower than the control group,the degrees are lighter,the difference between the two groups is statistically significant(P <0.05).It suggests that Huangqi Jianzhong Decoction can reduce the incidence and lighten the degree of the Myelosuppression caused by chemotherapy.(3)KarnofskyPerformance Score: before chemotherapy,the Karnofsky Performance Score between the two groups has no significant difference(P> 0.05);after chemotherapy,the Karnofsky Performance Score of the treatment group is higher than the control group,the difference between the two groups is statistically significant(P <0.05).It suggests that Huangqi Jianzhong Decoction can enhance the Karnofsky Performance Score in these patients undergoing chemotherapy.(4)Quality of life:before chemotherapy,the Quality Of Life score between the two groups has no significant difference(P>0.05);after chemotherapy,the Quality Of Life score of the treatment group is higher than the control group,the difference between the two groups is statistically significant(P <0.05).It suggests that Huangqi Jianzhong Decoction can enhance the quality of life in these patients undergoing chemotherapy.Conclusion:Huangqi Jianzhong Decoction can effectively prevent and treat the gastrointestinal reactions and myelosuppression caused by chemotherapy,enhance the Karnofsky Performance Score of these patients undergoing chemotherapy and improve their quality of life. |
